Opportunity for Community & Prayer
Virtual prayer meetings will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 9:00 AM via Zoom. The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 14th. This Zoom prayer time will last about 15 minutes, and gives us an additional opportunity to check in and share the people and things that we hold in our hearts. Dcerka, Daughter of God Event
On Sunday, October 19th at 4 PM in Christ Moravian's Fellowship Hall, the Rev. John Jackman will give a talk about Dcerka – Daughter of God, John Hus’ remarkable spiritual guide for women. This book, written during his exile, has never before been available in English. Hus’ guide reveals a profound respect for women’s spirituality, remarkable in his day – and ours! Jackman will talk about Hus’ unusual views of women, who attended his sermons at the Bethlehem Chapel in droves. At a time when most theologians regarded women as unreliable inferiors fit only for housework and childbearing, Hus regarded them as equals in the spiritual realm. There will be light refreshments, and a collection will be taken to support the work of the Unity Women’s Desk. Copies of Dcerka will be available for purchase.
Hollyween
Our annual Hollyween community event with our friends from Bookmarks and Salem Pres is coming up! On October 25th from 10 AM-11:30 AM, we’ll be back on our front lawn for a fun, safe, Halloween inspired morning. There will be lots of activities, crafts, pumpkin painting, a book reading, face-painting and a Trunk-or-Treat! That’s where we need your help. We need 10 to 15 cars decked out in your best Halloween decor to give out candy to all the kids that come enjoy the morning! Toilet Paper Drive for Brunson Elementary
Due to budget cuts, the admins at Brunson Elementary have let us know that they have a limit to how much toilet paper the district will pay for during the year. We are continuing our partnership with them during the month of September by asking for donations of toilet paper. Any and all kinds are welcome! We will be collecting toilet paper through the end of the month. Boxes to place your donations are in the West Lobby & 1st floor stairwell. You can also donate funds and we will purchase as many rolls as we can. Please put “Brunson TP” in the memo line.

Women’s Bible Study and Opportunity for Fellowship
Our Wednesday morning women's Bible study meets from 10-11:30 AM in the Burke Room through November 19th. It is not necessary to attend every week.
