It’s time again to order your copies of the Daily Texts for next year! We ask that you consider how many copies you would like for yourself and for gifts, so that we can take advantage of the publisher's early bird pricing and purchase an accurate number of preorders. Please submit your preorders by August 8th to lock in the early bird pricing below. We will be purchasing very few extra copies with this first order. We, of course, can order more later at an increased price. Email Jacob at jacob@calvarymoravian.org with your order or call the church office. No prepayment is needed, we will take payment when the books arrive this Fall. Thank you!

Blessing of the Backpacks
This Sunday, August 10th, we’ll celebrate the start of a new school year!
During worship, we’ll have new stickers and tags as we participate in our annual Blessing of the Backpacks & Devices! Students, teachers, administrators, staff, all educators: Bring your bags! We can’t wait to pray ourselves into a new year remembering that with God all things are possible.

Church-wide Retreat - Deadline is this Sunday!
We’re heading to Laurel Ridge for our annual retreat! It’s happening over Labor Day Weekend, August 29th-31st, and all members/families are invited. Expect a weekend full of connection, worship, fun, and peace in the mountains. Bring the whole family: there’s something for everyone! You can also elect to stay an extra night on Sunday for the holiday weekend. Brew Your Faith
On August 12th at 7 PM, Pastor Chaz will begin leading a discussion group called Brew Your Faith on the 2nd Tuesdays of each month. The meetings will be held at Lot 63 in Old Salem (614 S Main St). We hope to see you there for fellowship!
Opportunity for Community & Prayer
Virtual prayer meetings will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 9:00 AM via Zoom. The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 12th. We will pray for ourselves, for those on our prayer list, and for our church and world. This Zoom prayer time will last about 15 minutes, and gives us an additional opportunity to check in and share the people and things that we hold in our hearts. Confidentiality will be an essential part of these times together; when talking with someone else about the prayer time, it’s OK to say what you yourself shared, but not OK to say what anyone else shared. Women’s Bible Study and Opportunity for Fellowship
Our Wednesday morning women's Bible study will resume on September 10th from 10-11:30 AM in the Burke Room and go through November 19th. It is not necessary to attend every week. Feel free to attend when you can and bring a friend if you'd like. We will be studying Genesis 1-11 this fall with the book “God of Creation” by Jen Wilkins. Calvary Moravian Women’s Day
All women who are members and friends of Calvary Moravian Church are invited to the Calvary Women's Day on Saturday, October 4th, here at Calvary! We will gather for coffee and fellowship (and some fun!) around 9:30-10:00 am. The Rt. Rev. Carol Foltz, who served here as Assistant Pastor, will lead us in a Bible study and conversation. Following a meal prepared and served by our brothers, we will share in a service project as directed by David Holston, Executive Director of Sunnyside Ministry. Calvary’s Day at the Dash Game
The Christian Education Committee is hosting another Calvary Moravian Day at the Dash baseball game on Sunday, August 17th at 2 PM. Below is a link to purchase tickets in our block of seats. Financial Deep Dive - September 14th
On Sunday, September 14th, following worship, our Finance Committee will hold another deep dive session and share financial information connected to the feasibility study, and talk about how the Joint Board plans to address the top priorities identified by our congregation. Friendship Sunday School Class
Join the Friendship Class this fall beginning on September 7th for an engaging 12-week New Testament study. Participants will read a manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for the weekly meetings at 9:45 on Sunday mornings. Please contact Justin or Lauren Stultz to sign-up by 8/17 so we can order study manuals for all participants.
Tuesday Night Band Class
Beginning band class will start on Tuesday September 2, 2025, at Home Moravian Church. Sponsored jointly with Salem Congregation, Beginning Band Class will once again be offered under the leadership of Robah Ogburn and Connie Merritt. Each Tuesday night, the class will meet at 6:30pm for all student’s 6th grade and up (we have had students starting in their 80’s). If you do not know what instrument you want to learn, the leaders will help you make that decision on the first night. Salem Congregation Chorale Band will meet at 7:30 each Tuesday and is open to all interested players. This group is targeted for all players that have at least completed Beginning Band as well as those that have played for many years. Both bands will meet in the Rehearsal Room on the lower level of the Rhondthaler building.
