Pastor Nola will be out of the office May 12th-18th and return on May 19th.
Amanda will be going on sabbatical starting May 20th and will return to the office on August 11th.
Children, Youth, & Baccalaureate Sunday
This Sunday, May 18th, we will be celebrating our children, youth, & graduates during worship. Immediately following worship, we will have a lunch in Fellowship Hall. The church will provide the main course (fried chicken) and we're asking all in attendance to bring their favorite side or dessert to share! We hope you will join us for food & fellowship as we celebrate these important times in our members’ lives!
Prayer Circle Around the Jail
Join brothers and sisters from many churches and traditions for the annual Prayer Circle Around the Jail at the detention center downtown, on Friday, May 16, 2025; gather at 5:15, pray from 5:30-6:00. Those inside, both inmates and staff, are told about the event, and many look out and see you standing and praying for them. This informal act of Christian love is deeply meaningful as we share our concerns before God for all those incarcerated; their families; and those who work there (food service, health care, security, cleaning, chaplains, officers). Come with your friends and share in this ministry of love. The jail is located at the corner of Church and Second Streets, and takes up the whole block - the goal is to have enough pray-ers to circle the entire block.

Opportunity for Community & Prayer
Virtual prayer meetings will be offered on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 9:00 AM via Zoom. The next meeting will be Tuesday, May 27th. We will pray for ourselves, for those on our prayer list, and for our church and world. This Zoom prayer time will last about 15 minutes, and gives us an additional opportunity to check in and share the people and things that we hold in our hearts. Confidentiality will be an essential part of these times together; when talking with someone else about the prayer time, it’s OK to say what you yourself shared, but not OK to say what anyone else shared. Financial Deep Dive - June 8th
On June 8th, following worship, our Finance Committee will have a deep dive session about Calvary’s finances in Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be served. We hope you will attend!
Moravian Band “Play-Around”
Did you play an instrument years ago, and do you think you've forgotten how? Here's your opportunity to pick it up again! Are you just getting started and only know a few notes? Come play the ones you know, all in a very "no-stress" environment! Every Wednesday evening beginning June 4, through the summer, join the Moravian band "Play-Around" in the fellowship hall at New Philadelphia Moravian Church! We'll gather and play from 7 to 8 pm each week, with a different leader each week. I promise you, nobody's listening to your faltering pitch or missed notes! Nobody's judging when your lip just flat gives out and you need to sit a couple out and rest! We're all in this together, just playing tunes in the green and blue books, developing skills, keeping fresh, and enjoying the fellowship and music. Come and join us!"
Forsyth Detention Center Clothing Drive
The Forsyth Detention Center is in desperate need of men's clothing: pants, shirts, and underwear. Sweatpants and t-shirts are preferable. They’ve requested medium to large pants, shirts, and underwear. If you have any used, clean clothing that you can donate, please leave them at the bottom of the main stairwell and we will take them to the detention center. Thank you!
Wednesday Night Bible Study
Mid-Week Adult Bible Study with Pastor Chaz is on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Burke Conference Room. We will meet in person and via Zoom so all are welcome! The Zoom meeting link is us02web.zoom.us/j/84879938980. The study will run through May 28th.
