New Opportunity for Community & Prayer
Virtual prayer meetings are offered on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, at 9:00 AM via Zoom. The next meeting will be this Tuesday, March 11th. We will pray for ourselves, for those on our prayer list, and for our church and world. This Zoom prayer time will last about 15 minutes, and gives us an additional opportunity to check in and share the people and things that we hold in our hearts. Confidentiality will be an essential part of these times together; when talking with someone else about the prayer time, it’s OK to say what you yourself shared, but not OK to say what anyone else shared. The link to join the meeting is https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81364100880
I look forward to sharing prayer with you! – Pastor Nola

Lenten Home Communion
Lent is a holy season of introspection, spiritual growth, and closeness to God and to our brothers and sisters in the family of God. In this holy time, Pastor Nola will come to you with communion at home during Lent if you wish. Please contact her directly (nola@calvarymoravian.org), or the church office, to schedule a visit!
Bagging the Blessings
During the season of Lent, Sunnyside is having a food drive. The idea is that so many of us “give up something for Lent”, why not give up a bag of groceries, a few items or even a can of food? Boxes are located in the West lobby, the first floor stairwell, or you can leave bags in the Narthex.
“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.” Matthew 25:35
Want to make a difference?
We are looking for people that want to be involved with our Hospitality Committee. We provide meals for families for a variety of reasons: newborns, illnesses, surgeries, deaths, fellowship events, receptions, shelter meals, and any time a family of our congregation is in need. The skill of cooking is not a prerequisite. Donations of food are also very helpful. You are not required to participate in each request, only when you are able. If you would like to be involved in this important ministry please send your name, phone number and email address to Donna Cheek (donnacheek92@hotmail.com/336-399-0857)
Easter Grave-cleaning and Flowering
Once again this year the youth and children will be offering their services to help any members, families, or friends of our congregation in the Easter tradition of cleaning graves in God’s Acre. We plan to clean graves on Good Friday, April 18th, just as we have in years past. We are grateful to Nick Stone who has secured flower availability. This year our flower option is a 6 inch potted Red Geranium ($25 per plant). Each pot will be wrapped with paper and a bow, and if desired, placed upon the grave requested or you may pick them up Good Friday morning at Calvary. Please see the order form available in the narthex or at the link below to place your order, or you may contact Elaine Peddycord at peddycj@bellsouth.net with questions. If you choose to have us clean the grave and place the flower, simply provide the name(s) and we will locate the grave. Orders must be received by April 6th in order to confirm numbers with the nursery. Additionally, please let us know if you plan to pick up your flower from God’s Acre after Easter.
Grave Decoration on April 19th
Everyone is invited to help decorate graves at God’s Acre on Saturday, April 19th, at 9:00 AM. For over 100 years, the churches of the Salem Congregation have been decorating the oldest graves at God’s Acre in preparation for the Easter Sunrise Service. Many of our fellow brothers and sisters buried in these graves no longer have family who are able to place flowers for Easter morning. We invite everyone—children, youth, young adults, and those young at heart to help us keep this tradition alive. If you have flowers or greenery that you can donate, please bring to the church on Good Friday and leave in the first floor entry. Or, if you are planning to help decorate, you can bring them with you Saturday morning to God’s Acre. Remember to bring your gloves and clippers to help make quick work of our decorating. If you have any questions, contact Donna Cheek at (336) 399-0857.
Lenten Devotionals
“All of creation,” wrote St. Hildegard of Bingen, “is a song of praise to God” – a swirling symphony all around us. So for this year’s 40-day Lenten journey, why not take the Christian musical treasury as your guide, classic hymns and sacred songs bringing together big ideas and beautiful melodies? In this year’s Lenten devotional, “Lift Up Your Voice”, each week, reflections on biblical texts and beloved music inspire practices you can try yourself, with your family and friends. We have free copies of this devotional available in the West Lobby or as a digital version at the following link: "Lift Up Your Voice"
The Next Breakfast Bunch
