Holy Week Livestreams
During Holy Week, we will live-stream Maundy Thursday, the Good Friday evening Lovefeast service, and Easter morning. The other Holy Week reading services will only be in-person. If you would like to watch those services online, please go to our Youtube page (youtube.com/calvarymoravianws) and search for 2022’s recorded services. We will be posting links on Facebook and our website every day to the 2022 services as well.
Church Office Closed
The church will be closed on Monday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 2nd after Easter.
We are Hiring!
We are hiring for a full time Director of Family Ministries. This new position will be responsible for organizing and overseeing all educational and ministry programs that support and nurture our children, youth, and their families. Adult Bible Study
There will be no Bible Study April 3rd. For the remaining month of April, Bob Snyder will be teaching Bible Study and Chaz will return to teaching in May.
Great Sabbath Service
This year the service will be on Saturday, March 30th at 7:00 PM at Home Moravian Church. Great Sabbath is the day after the Crucifixion and before the Resurrection, Easter Dawn. This year’s service is directed by Amanda Schumpert with Mary Louise Kapp Peeples on organ. Moravian and community singers make up the chorus and there will be organ and orchestral accompaniment of the musical works.
Grave Decoration on March 30th
Everyone is invited to help decorate graves at God’s Acre on Saturday, March 30th, at 9:00 AM. For over 100 years, the churches of the Salem Congregation have been decorating the oldest graves at God’s Acre in preparation for the Easter Sunrise Service. Many of our fellow brothers and sisters buried in these graves no longer have family who are able to place flowers for Easter morning. We invite everyone—children, youth, young adults, and those young at heart to help us keep this tradition alive. If you have flowers or greenery that you can donate, please bring to the church on Good Friday and leave in the first floor entry. Or, if you are planning to help decorate, you can bring it with you Saturday morning to God’s Acre. Remember to bring your gloves and clippers to help make quick work of our decorating. Grief Support Group
On Tuesday, April 9th, at 11 AM here at Calvary in the 2nd floor parlor, we are having another session of our monthly small group for persons who have experienced or are experiencing the loss of a loved one and would like to share with others who have had a similar loss. If you are interested in participating in this group please contact Pastor Wayne at: Wayne@calvarymoravian.org or call the church office at 336.722.3703 and we will get you connected.
131st Anniversary Celebration
On April 21st, we will celebrate Calvary’s 131st anniversary with a service of communion and a potluck immediately following worship in Fellowship Hall. We hope you will join us that Sunday to commemorate the occasion!
