Food Pantry Resource
From time to time, Calvary has guests who ask about food resources available to them in the Winston-Salem area. Working with City with Dwellings, Jacob Patrick, our Communications Manager, has compiled an information card outlining where meals are served daily as well as the names and contact information for local food pantries. If you are here at the church and someone needs to know about such resources in our community, these 5x7 handouts will be located in the West Hallway outside the office and in the narthex.

Lovefeast in a Box
It's that time of year again! Time to order Lovefeast in a Box™, that is! Calvary will be hosting traditional in-person, indoor lovefeasts for Christmas Eve, but for our far-away friends, we’ll still be live-streaming and are again selling at-home lovefeast kits. From NOW until December 5, you can order a Lovefeast in a Box.™ Each box contains a dressed lovefeast candle, Moravian cookies, lovefeast coffee, and the worship bulletin. You can order individual, double, or family boxes, shipped right to your door (if you are local and want to pick them up in person, shipping is waived and ordering is open until 12/12). Then, on Dec. 24, you can participate in a lovefeast with us via video stream.

Fall on the Farm
Join us at the Howard's Farm at 4pm this Sunday, November 6th, for a hotdog cookout, fellowship, fun, and a hayride, enjoying the beautiful fall colors and weather. Barbara and Bill Howard are once again opening their beautiful farm to us for a churchwide gathering and we hope to see you there! Their address is: 148 Jim Frye Rd, Advance, NC. If you have questions or want to contribute a side, dessert, or drink, see Amanda Schumpert or Barbara Howard.
Suicide Prevention Training
Dana Myers, Associate Pastor at Fries Memorial Church, will be leading a seminar on suicide prevention at Fries Memorial on November 5th from 10 AM-12 PM.
Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor. This training is offered to support anyone in the church who would like to get a basic framework to support those in our congregations and communities who may be dealing with suicidal thoughts. This would be especially helpful for youth leaders and other teachers in churches.
Social Justice Workshop
On November 12th from 9 AM-3 PM, Trinity Moravian Church is hosting a justice event which will include: A justice fair with information about organizations and agencies already at work in our province and ways to get involved, brainstorming and sharing in the large group, bringing together groups around particular justice areas to begin creating action plans, and adding to a network of folks working towards justice in various areas for support and encouragement. All are welcome to participate in this discovery process and sharing in order to respond faithfully in our walk with God. Building on the energy from Provincial Synod, the Moravian Advocacy and Justice Action Team is excited to create space for individuals and congregations to gather and explore the opportunities to care for and serve in our communities.
