Friends in Christ, God invites us to hold the needs of our sisters and brothers as dear to us as our own needs. Loving our neighbors as ourselves, we offer our thanksgivings and our petitions on behalf of the church and the world.

A letter from Beth Nance
I have been so very blessed these past few months to have such a loving and caring church family. You all have been so supportive through Eldon's death and now my recovery from surgery. I feel I am doing very well and I know that is in large part due to all your prayers, calls, cards, notes, food, flowers, visits, and all the many ways you have supported me. Thank you so mch for your love and caring ways! I miss you all and hope to be back in the congregation soon.
Love to all, Beth Nance.
You are invited to participate in a Zoom Bible Study taught by Pastor Lane each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. The study includes a time of intercessory prayer followed by study and discussion. During September, the Bible Study will focus on exploring Biblical themes of stewardship. We hope you will plan to join us! To access the study, please use the following ZOOM link:
Sunday School Update
It is hard to believe it’s September! We know you’ve heard over recent weeks how Sunday School and programming is going for all ages as we begin a new season and as we navigate ongoing pandemic concerns. But, just in case there is still confusion, here’s what we’re able to offer at this time:
Sunday School - 9:45-10:45am Sunday Mornings:
‘21/‘22 Catechism Class w/ Pastor Chaz and Kristie Pristas
(2nd Floor Ladies Parlor)
Youth Sunday School (6th-12th grades) w/ Melanie Nance
(3rd Floor Youth Room)
Friendship Class (Adult Class) w/ Bob Snyder and Lauren & Justin Stultz
(Burke Conference Room)
New Life Class (Adult Class) w/ Barbara Howard
(First Floor New Life Class Room)
During 11am Sunday Worship we will offer Nursery beginning at 10:45am as well as Godly Play following the children’s moment during the service. We will continue to stay in touch with our families with young children and make Sunday School and Nursery plans accordingly for the educational hour as we move into October and the rest of the fall.
Finally if you would like to volunteer to teach a children’s Sunday School class, work with our youth, provide nursery assistance, or learn how to do Godly Play, please contact Amanda Schumpert, Elaine Peddycord, or Ginni Baker.
The Women’s Fellowship is organizing a new committee—Take A Meal. This committee is open to the entire congregation, men and women (because we know some great men chefs!). This will be done through an app called Signup Genius. When a meal is needed, whether for death, birth or any other reason, I will send out an email from Signup Genius with what food items are needed, how much is needed, and where to bring items. You sign up for what you would like to provide. Others can see what has been signed up for, preventing duplications. Don’t feel like you have to sign up for every meal. Sign up when you can. Not everyone can do every meal, nor do we expect you to. Please send your email address, name and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your willingness to participate in this valuable ministry. Questions? Call Donna Cheek at 336-399-0857.
Circle #1 Fall kick off!
Circle 1 meets on the second Monday night of the month. We will meet on September 13 at 6:30 at the home of Pat George. Her address is 343 Knollwood Street, Winston-Salem. Please join us as we make plans for the upcoming year! Questions? Call Donna Cheek 336-399-0857
